INTERNATIONAL CENSUS DATA FOR SOCIAL SCIENCE RESEARCH

The North Atlantic Population Project (NAPP) harmonizes and disseminates nineteenth and early twentieth century census microdata. Most of the datasets cover entire national populations. The collection includes data from Canada, Denmark, Great Britain, Germany, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and the United States for the period 1703 to 1911. The project is a collaboration between IPUMS and various academics and National Archives.

NOTE: NAPP datasets are now disseminated through the IPUMS International data system. Users must register there to gain access. Please contact ipums@umn.edu if you have questions or encounter difficulties.
